Pablo Rubio

Renowned sculptor, painter, and engraver, Rubio was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1944. Currently serving as Professor at the University of Puerto Rico he holds a Master's Degree in Arts from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from the School of Plastic Arts of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture. Being one of the most creative and revolutionary international sculptors actively involved with art in his country and internationally, his avant-garde creations leave an imprint in the world and in the universal sculpture movement. He has been awarded with many prizes, distinctions, and public art commissions internationally, created, directed and co-directed three International Sculpture Symposiums at the University of Puerto Rico, and participated in multiple international symposiums, biennials, and significant art events around the world. He has also been the curator of many events and has written about 39 essays, article, and reviews that have been published. Rubio’s work and public sculptures can be found in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Ecuador, Guadeloupe, Switzerland, Spain, Venezuela, Korea, United States, and other countries.

Time, Space, and Light have been an inspiration for most of my work. To create ideas that still produce child-like emotions in me and to materialize them in my art work for myself and for people to share and embrace, are the driving forces in my life.

White Circle Gallery has the honor to the present the works of Mr. Pablo Rubio-Sexto, a master in his craft and a transcending artist in the field.
